National Volunteer Week

April 18-24 marks National Volunteer Week! This isĀ  a time to honor those who have selflessly given back to their communities and hopefully take an opportunity to serve where needed.

President Nixon established National Volunteer Week in 1974 through an executive order, and this annual tradition continues to be widely recognized. President Obama even issued a proclamation yesterday, as reported by All Headline News.

Will you volunteer some of your time and effort this week? Consider contacting your local Salvation Army to see how you can be used to impact your community for the better! Visit our website here to find a Salvation Army near you.

And be sure to visit our blog throughout the week as we highlight devoted volunteers who are making a difference in their communities.
