A New Beginning for The Salvation Army in Haiti

The Salvation Army Haiti has dedicated their new divisional headquarters! Nearly 15 months after the January 2010 earthquake damaged their former facility, this re-opening is a  symbol of resilience and strength to the community and others around the world.

We’ve shared some photos from the Haiti headquarters’ ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony below. For the full album, click here.

The new Haiti Divisional Headquarters is located in the Santo neighborhood, about a half-hour from the Delmas 2 location. The USA Western Territory sponsored the purchase of the new facility.

Divisional Commander, Major Lucien Lamartiniere, offered words of welcome and thanks to guests.

The band and timbrel group from the Port-au-prince Central Corps performed at the dedication ceremony.

Colonel Sue Harfoot (in navy blue) gets ready to cut the ribbon!

Ta-dah! Haiti's new divisional headquarters will help The Salvation Army continue to effectively serve the needs of Haitians.
