The Salvation Army Orlando's "thank you" doughnuts and bottled water were a welcome relief from the 90+ degree temperature.

  • Beaumont, TX: The Salvation Army will host the second annual Kids Book Fair on Friday, May 13, at the Point North Housing Complex.
  • Modesto, CA: The Salvation Army’s Red Shield youth members will provide a Boxing Demonstration at the Vintage Faire Mall on May 14.
  • Nashville, TN: The Nashville Sounds minor league baseball team will host The Salvation Army as Charity of the Night on Saturday, May 14. The Army will host a booth at the stadium featuring activities and giveaways for families and kids as the Sounds take on the Sacramento Rivercats.
  • Detroit, MI: The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division teamed up with Denali Moose Tracks to serve 10,000 scoops of free ice cream in Detroit. For each scoop eaten, Denali Moose Tracks will donate $1 to The Salvation Army. Plus, the Detroit Tigers joined with the Army to televise a public service announcement about “Doing the Most Good” Week starring pitcher Max Scherzer, who has volunteered on The Salvation Army’s Bed & Bread Truck.   • Orlando, FL: The Salvation Army distributed donuts and water at their “thank you” event in front of City Hall in downtown. They’re also visiting over 60 locations with boxes of “thank you donuts” to businesses, community partners, Advisory Board members, and other supporters of The Salvation Army in the Orlando area. City of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer even awarded The Salvation Army a proclamation announcing National Salvation Army Week! For photos, click here.
