Cast Your Vote: Walmart’s “12 Days of Giving” Campaign is Officially On!
You hold the power!
Walmart’s “12 Days of Giving” Facebook campaign is in full swing! The latest contest from the multinational retailer empowers Facebook users to nominate their favorite local nonprofits to receive part of a $1.5 million grant.
Since the requirement is that the organization be one that provides basic items such as food, shelter and clothing, we’re hoping that you’ll nominate The Salvation Army!
It’s very simple. Here’s the three step low-down:
Step 1: Visit Walmart’s Holiday Giving Facebook page found Here.
Step 2: Submit a 200-word description of The Salvation Army including their impact in the local community.
Step 3: Submit one photo (or more!) that illustrates how The Salvation Army is helping families in need.
A panel from the Walmart Foundation will review the submissions. There will be 12 winners in total announced daily on Facebook from December 12 – 23.
The Salvation Army helped 30 million Americans in need last year because of generous hearts like yours and corporate supporters like Walmart nationwide. The donations that we collect at Christmas provide food for hungry families, shelter for the homeless, Christmas presents for disadvantaged children, and care for the elderly among other programs.
Walmart has consistently supported The Salvation Army in a variety of ways, as a part of their efforts to help people “live better around the globe”. In addition to welcoming our bell ringers outside of their stores each Christmas, they have assisted us with disaster relief efforts and have helped us battle hunger.
