The Dancing Bell Ringers
In recent years, Salvation Army bell ringers have attempted to bring a little pizzazz into their kettle duties in order to spur interest and donations. You might remember the tiny bell ringing horse from last year or Elvis himself manning a red kettle!
This year’s creative bell ringing award goes to…Bell Ringers David Kelly and Christopher Hinzman, Cadets in The Salvation Army School for Officer Training!
In an effort to jazz up their usual 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. bell ringing shift, David and Christopher showed off their musical talents, complete with improv dancing, singing, and instruments. Commuters walking past New York City’s Penn Station during the holiday season’s Red Kettle Campaign were likely entertained by the this talented duo. The pair became quite the crowd-pleaser!
So popular in fact, the guys even landed a performance on NBC’s “Today” Show with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb.
