Seeing is Believing
Although I wasn’t in South Bend, IN over the weekend for The Salvation Army’s Kroc Community Center grand opening, news articles from the area are buzzing with details from the day’s event! According to our friends there, thousands of community members showed up to check out the awesome amenities of the long-awaited center. Apparently “seeing is believing”.
(Check out local News Anchor Tom Powell‘s blog describing his experience at the grand opening on Saturday.)
This is the 19th Kroc Center to open over the last decade, fulfilling donor Joan Kroc’s dream of creating multiple community-supported centers where families and individuals from all backgrounds would have the opportunity to enrich their lives through sports, worship, the arts and much more.
“We call it “My Kroc” because it is a place that has been designed just for our community. We believe that once you experience The Kroc Center, you will consider it your very own,” said Major Robert Webster, Territorial Youth Secretary for The Salvation Army. “The Kroc Center is a very unique place where the community will come together to be inspired and challenged to become everything they ever imagined they could be and everything God made them to be!”
