BakeMark Supports SA Veterans Services on Donut Day

This is for you, donut lovers in So Cal!

1200 Southern California donut shops and bakeries that use products by BakeMark – the leading manufacturer and distributor of bakery products and ingredients – are celebrating both Memorial Day and the 75th Annual National Donut Day by supporting The Salvation Army’s area veterans services.

Throughout the day on Friday, June 1, your purchases at any shop displaying The Salvation Army Donut Day Poster below will directly support The Salvation Army’s Haven homeless shelter in West Los Angeles. For four years, the manufacturing company has generously supported The Salvation Army’s veterans services, donating approximately $40,000 in total!

Why donuts?

The Salvation Army started National Donut Day in 1938 to honor the “Donut Lassies” who served these sweet treats to soldiers during WWI. Learn more about The Salvation Army’s “Sweet” donut history by clicking here.

Why veterans?

The Salvation Army offers a variety of programs to American veterans from financial assistance and housing services to cheerful conversation, recognizing the serious obstacles of our service men and women upon returning to civilian life.

BakeMark is also sponsoring this year’s celebration at The Salvation Army’s Haven homeless shelter for veterans from 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.

So go ahead. Satisfy your sweet tooth and support our veterans!
