Salvation Army Stories: Part 3

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

This verse from Philippians is one Angelica Rodriguez keeps close to her heart. It was the first Bible verse she memorized after she began attending a Salvation Army church at her friend’s prompting.

Angelica knows that the words “all things” encompass all of life’s challenges. For her, the greatest challenge was motivating her family members to join her in the church pew each week.

For years, the Rodriguez family struggled with anger and violence. But through God’s work in their lives, they’ve come to know the love of Christ and “the peace of God that passes all understanding” (another great passage from Philippians!).

Daughter, Lluvia says, “Every time we’re together we express love to each other. [This is] something that we didn’t have in our family for a couple years.”
