  1. I scheduled a pick up for today on Monday. My husband is 87 and in a wheel chair. We are in the midst of moving and the pickup time was supposed to be between 1:30-4:30 p.m. Thus causing us to stay at home and lose an entire day that we could have been accomplishing our move. At 4:55 p.m. a rude driver called and said he couldn’t find a parking space and so he wasn’t going to pick up our furniture. We are moving tonight!! Tomorrow is August 31st and everything needs to be out of this apartment. I offered to pay parking for him in the lot across the street – he said his truck was too big. I offered him to come into our building’s garage, he said he couldn’t. I live in downtown Glendale – parking is never good here. I asked him to double park for a few minutes and he would not. Are you telling me that you don’t make any pick ups in the city???? There is rarely parking in the city???? This man just wanted to go home.

I will never make any donation to the Salvation Army again and don’t bother sending me a letter asking for money. This has caused us extreme, extreme, stress.

  2. Sharon – I’m incredibly sorry to hear about this negative experience with The Salvation Army pick-up service. Although this already occurred, please know that I’m forwarding your complaint onto the appropriate management in your area to follow up on this. We really appreciative your donations and past support. I do hope your move went smoothly and that you’ll consider donating again the future.

Please feel free to contact us at anytime with more details of your complaint so we can work to resolve any future issues:

    Thanks so much again.
