Owl City's Adam Young

There are 110 days until Christmas and 79 days until our Red Kettle Campaign begins (that’s the day after Thanksgiving!).

But today, our second annual Rock the Red Kettle tour begins – a little earlier than usual and that’s OK -because we are very eager to tell you who this year’s performer is.

Are you ready?

Wait for it…

That’s right! The band, led by singer Adam Young, will perform in 25 US cities in support of The Salvation Army’s upcoming Red Kettle Campaign as a part of The MidSummer Station World Tour. You probably know the group’s most popular hits including 2009’s “Fireflies” and their latest with pop singer, Carly Rae Jepsen, “Good Time”.

Their latest dance tune certainly sets the tone for what will surely be another incredible Christmas season of service and charity through our 121st annual Red Kettle Campaign. And as a part of his tour, Young and the band will be volunteering at Salvation Army locations across the country in an effort to give back and encourage young fans to do the same.

“I am incredibly excited to partner with The Salvation Army,” said Young. “The Rock the Red Kettle Tour is a great opportunity to celebrate the importance of volunteering and giving back year round, and I am excited to do my part on the road this fall.”

The concert tour follows last year’s great partnership with the talented and charitable band, Honor Society. And just like last year, we’ll be showcasing the band’s volunteering activities on all of our social media channels like the blog, Facebook and Twitter.  The Rock the Red Kettle Tour is produced by Ned Specktor and Specktor Media.

In fact, if you would like to show your support for Owl City’s partnership with The Salvation Army, you can follow them on Facebook here or find them on Twitter by clicking here.
