Six Bell Ringers Going Strong For World Record!

Six volunteer bell ringers remain in our World Record Bell Ringing contest after 24 hours of nonstop bell ringing to raise awareness for The Salvation Army’s 122nd annual Red Kettle Campaign and set a new world record.

Contestant Steve Batzka of Fort Wayne, IN is all smiles this morning after nearly a day of nonstop bell ringing in front of Kroger Grocery Store.

Joel Ostby of Salinas, CA was the first to bow out at 9:32 a.m. ET this morning after nearly 20 hours of bell ringing outside of Safeway Grocery Store. Shortly thereafter at 12:10 p.m. ET, Tim Hatmaker of Santa Maria, CA humbly bowed out of the competition after nearly a day of nonstop ringing with the final words, “I have bitten off more than I can chew.”

We thank these men for their courageous effort, strength and service which will help The Salvation Army provide assistance to millions in need this Christmas!
