Salvation Army Serving Residents of Hattiesburg, MS Following Devastating Tornado


The Salvation Army is dispatching five mobile feeding units to Hattiesburg, MS this morning in response to a tornado that tore through the area last night, mangling more than 200 homes, downing trees, and injuring more than a dozen people.

Local Emergency Management agencies reached out to The Salvation Army for support of assessment and clean up efforts in the area. Each mobile feeding unit is fully stocked and prepared to serve hundreds of meals to residents and first responders.

“Throughout the day on Monday, The Salvation Army will be ready to respond as new pockets of need continue to present themselves,” stated Bill Feist, Emergency Disaster Services Director for The Salvation Army’s ALM Division.
