Stearns & Foster Donates $1 Million in New Mattresses For Emergency Shelters
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) reports that adults need 7-9 hours of healthy sleep each night in order to avoid sleep-related unhealthy behaviors and chronic diseases. As you probably know, getting this much shut-eye each night can be a difficult feat, but imagine just how hard this would be without a bed for resting your head.
That’s why we’re thrilled that luxury mattress brand Stearns & Foster, under Sealy Inc., generously donated $1 million in new mattresses to The Salvation Army’s residential facilities as part of its annual Gift of Sleep program. In its third consecutive year, the program promised $100 to The Salvation Army for every mattress sold by participating retailers during the holiday season, so we’re thankful for all you Sealy shoppers out there who helped support the campaign.
The Salvation Army provides around 10 million nights of sleep for Americans in need each year, so the donation will be put to good use.
“We are very thankful that new mattresses are headed to The Salvation Army residential shelters,” said Major Ron Busroe , National Community Relations and Development Secretary for The Salvation Army. “These mattresses will ensure a better night’s rest for our clients.”
We thank you, Stearns & Foster, for your partnership in Doing the Most Good!
