Charles Schwab Corporation Supports Salvation Army & Wants Your Vote!
The Charles Schwab Corporation kicks off its tenth annual Schwab Volunteer Week today, which includes service projects in 82 cities across the U.S., with 3,200 employees taking part in 200 different services projects benefiting 157 charities! Among the list of charities is The Salvation Army, where Schwab volunteers will be contributing time and talent on three different days in San Francisco and other locations in the U.S.
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of Schwab Volunteer Week, Charles Schwab & Co, Inc. (CS&Co) is hosting the “Schwab Community Services Contest” to raise public awareness of the great work national nonprofit organizations are doing around the United States. The company is asking fans of the Charles Schwab Facebook page to choose one of four non-profits to receive a $10,000 grant from CS&Co, and The Salvation Army is on the ballot for the donation!
Each organization has posted a video on the Contest tab on the company’s Facebook page, describing the mission of the organization and the people they serve. The organization with the most votes by Saturday, May 26, will receive the grant, with runners-up receiving smaller grants for their participation.
“Schwab Volunteer Week is truly a celebration of the esprit de corps and culture of service throughout our company,” said Carrie Schwab-Pomerantz, president of Charles Schwab Foundation and senior vice president, Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. “It’s not only about the service we provide on behalf of our clients day in and day out, but what we can do for our communities as a whole that energizes us and gives meaning to our work.”
