Salvation Army Appoints New National Leaders
The Salvation Army’s National Commanders, Commissioners William and Nancy Roberts have been appointed by General André Cox as Chief of Staff and World Secretary of Women’s Ministries, respectively, for the international Salvation Army. We give thanks to the Roberts for their blessed leadership of The Salvation Army USA throughout the last three years and wish them the best in their new roles at International Headquarters.
In their stead, we welcome Commissioners David and Barbara Jeffrey as the new National Commander and National President of Women’s Ministries for The Salvation Army USA, effective November 1. The Jeffreys come to National Headquarters from The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory where they served as Territorial Commanders. Preceding this appointment, they held leadership roles in Maryland, West Virginia, North and South Carolina, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, and Texas.
In his new role, Commissioner David Jeffrey will lead a network of 3,600 officers, 64,000 employees and 3.3 million volunteers serving in more than 7,500 Centers of Operation through the United States.
Commissioner Barbara Jeffrey will lead the national women’s ministries to empower women to deeper faith and service to others. She will partner with leaders from the four territories of The Salvation Army to combat common issues that affect women throughout America.
