5 Reasons to #RockTheRedKettle Tomorrow
We’re gearing up for what will likely be our biggest, most exciting Rock The Red Kettle yet. Thousands of fans are expected to converge on Universal CityWalk Hollywood tomorrow, with countless more watching from home on the live stream on salvationarmyusa.tumblr.com. Some of this year’s most talented breakout artists will take The Salvation Army stage in Los Angeles to have fun and inspire their fans to give back this holiday season.
Take a look at these exciting new artists and then find out how you can join the party:
5. Coco Jones
Despite her mere fifteen years, this talented young singer has already been on the rise for six — at age nine, a video of her performance of the National Anthem for 40,000 at an NFL game in St. Louis went viral, and she hasn’t looked back since. Rising through the Disney Channel ranks, she recently joined Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, and Beyonce as one of Essence.com’s “35 Under 35: Young, Black, and Amazing.” We’re excited to hear her perform hits “Holla at the DJ” and “Made Of.”
Officially Noelle Bean, this 22-year-old starlet has been described as a “mix between Adele and Amy Winehouse.” She was recently named one of the Top 5 Indie Acts of 2013 by Teen.com and participated in the Macy’s/iHeart Radio Rising Star Campaign as one of the top 25 Indie acts in the country. A passionate songwriter, Bean hopes to inspire young people to embrace their individuality and build self-confidence. We look forward to hearing her perform her first single from her self-titled EP, Cops and Robbers.
This trio skyrocketed to fame after blowing away the judges of The X Factor with their original and energetic song “Sunset Blvd.” Natives of a small town in Washington, the two brothers and lifelong friend have been making music since middle school. Eventually moving to California, they played their way through the Los Angeles music scene until landing The X Factor audition. Now they count Grammy-award winners among their team of songwriters — and they’re only getting started.
2. Kelly Rowland
As a four-time GRAMMY-winning singer and songwriter, Kelly Rowland needs no introduction. Though she rose to stardom with Destiny’s Child, her gold and platinum solo albums have sold more than five million records and topped music charts around the world. Her energetic personality and on-screen presence also caught the attention of Simon Cowell, who tapped her as a judge for The X Factor. We’re very proud to feature Kelly in this year’s Rock The Red Kettle.
1. Austin Mahone
This small-town Texas native is on the rise – and fast. Finding an enthusiastic audience for his music online, his fan base spread to over 1.8 million Facebook fans, 1.5 million Twitter followers, and 545,000 YouTube subscribers by 2012 without any marketing team or record label. Now he’s collaborating with the likes of Flo Rida and appearing on everything from Access Hollywood and MTV to The Wall Street Journal. We expect to see his massive following, affectionately termed “Mahomies,” at Universal CityWalk Hollywood tomorrow in droves.
We hope to see you there as well! Best of all, Rock The Red Kettle is a FREE event! See below for the full event details:
