Every spring, millions of Americans attempt to declutter their lives – and in the process create huge piles of goods (gently used and sometimes never used). But we often don’t realize the positive domino effect of donating them to charity.
By donating clothing, electronics, furniture, household goods, and vehicles to be sold in The Salvation Army Family Stores, anyone can help transform lives in local communities.
For more than 100 years, programs at The Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARC) have provided spiritual, social, and emotional assistance for men and women who have lost the ability to cope with their problems and provide for themselves. Many people don’t know that The Salvation Army is the largest provider of residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs in the country and we’re humbled to serve so many.
We don't solicit government funding for our rehabilitation centers, which means our ministry relies solely on the generosity of individuals who donate goods to be sold in the Family Stores. And that means that the more people reduce and recycle this spring, the more men and women who struggle with addiction can be helped.
