Donuts and Doughnations!

Monday, April 23, 2012

Which classic white box do you grab when you’re grocery shopping: crumb cakes, cookies, muffins, or doughnuts?

The delicious sweets of famous bakery Entenmann’s are staples for breakfast time, snack time and especially National Doughnut Day time! That’s why for the second year in a row, Entenmann’s is helping The Salvation Army celebrate the historical day, held this year on June 1st.

9/11 Volunteer Story: You can Make a Difference

Thursday, April 19, 2012

In 2001, Kristina Paider was called to serve at Ground Zero following the 9/11 attacks. She was not a first responder, a member of a relief organization, a branch of the military or a minister of faith. She was a volunteer- one of many who, compelled by a sense of familial love and compassion for those suffering in the wake of the disaster, pushed aside her personal life for a month and traveled to New York City to offer her hands and her heart to the recovery process.

Volunteers: Tell us about Your Good Work!

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

Since National Volunteer Week is all about recognizing our nation’s volunteers, The Salvation Army wants to tell the world about how YOU’RE Doing the Most Good in your community!

Share with us how you’re helping your communities – either by submitting or a photo or making a video and posting to Youtube – and we’ll share your submissions on our blog as well as our national Facebook and Twitter pages.

It’s National Volunteer Week!

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

This week (April 15-21) is National Volunteer Week, a time to recognize volunteers and encourage people of all ages to seek out creative ways to get involved in their communities.

The Salvation Army is sending a gigantic “Thank You!” to all of our faithful volunteers. We truly cannot Do the Most Good for those in the most need without the whopping 3,400,000 volunteers that help us annually!
