Honor Society Serves on Detroit’s Bed & Bread Truck

Monday, April 12, 2010

Nearly 5,000 meals are served each day to children, adults and seniors by The Salvation Army Bed & Bread Program, which includes Bed & Bread trucks that make stops in metro Detroit’s most depressed areas every day of the year.

This is the latest Salvation Army program that the members of the band Honor Society have taken the time to be involved with as they travel around the country during their national Here Comes Trouble tour. The guys loaded up food in the truck before hitting the streets of Detroit to serve meals and talk to some of the truck’s regular visitors.

We applaud Michael, Andrew, Alex, and Jason for their efforts in helping The Salvation Army do the most good. There are plenty of other ways a popular young band could spend their time as they tour from city to city, but Honor Society has been extremely giving of themselves and taking the opportunity to serve others throughout their stops. Thanks, guys.

If you’d like to learn more about how The Salvation Army is taking compassion to the streets, you can find more information on the Bed & Bread Program at The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division’s website here. You can also catch a glimpse of Honor Society’s experience through the short video below.
