SA Announced the Dallas Cowboys’ 4th round picks!
As we mentioned in Friday’s blog post, The Salvation Army was chosen to announce the Dallas Cowboys’ fourth round draft picks yesterday at Radio City Music Hall in New York City for the upcoming NFL season!
Representing The Salvation Army, Major George Hood, Chief Communications Officer, announced the Dallas Cowboys’ fourth round picks: Kyle Wilber, a defensive end from Wake Forest and Matt Johnson, a safety from Eastern Washington.
Salvation Army to Announce NFL Draft Pick!
Tomorrow’s final draft picks will once again showcase an array of team colors, jerseys, famous names, and numbers. And standing among the action will be one unassuming man in his own team’s “jersey” – a navy blue, Salvation Army suit!
But not to worry, you won’t see Salvation Army officers battling it out at professional football games this fall (unless we’re ringing the bells outside the stadium for kettle donations!).
$147.6 Million: A New Giving Record!

Thanks to your support and generosity, The Salvation Army raised a record $147.6 million during the 2011 Christmas Red Kettle Campaign, setting a fundraising record for the seventh straight year! This is a $5.6 million increase from last year!
The Dallas Cowboys’ Holiday Wish
Even the Dallas Cowboys have a Christmas wish this year! The NFL team is asking friends and supporters of the team to help them raise $50,000 in support of The Salvation Army “Doing the Most Good” for the most in need.
