The Salvation Army is celebrating 150 years of service and ministry during its 2015 International Congress July 1-5.
Thousands of Salvationists and friends from all over the world will gather in London at the O2 arena to mark this historic event and unite under the theme, Boundless: The Whole World Redeeming. Each day, The International Congress will meet and commemorate the Army’s past accomplishments, celebrate the present and innovation for the future.
Founded by William and Catherine Booth, The Salvation Army began in East London on July 2 1865 to bring hope and salvation to the poor, the homeless, the hungry, and the destitute in London’s East End. As of today, the international church and charity remains just as dedicated 150 years later and continues to meet human needs without discrimination in 126 countries worldwide.
If you can’t make it to London, here are a few ways you can still join in on the festivities:

Check out the Boundless website where you can watch live and recorded video content as well as a daily live blog and social media interaction.
Salvationists and friends are also encouraged to join a Thunderclap – a simultaneous burst of social media – to mark the occasion of The Salvation Army’s 150th birthday itself on Founders’ Day, Thursday July 2. Click here for more information and to sign up.
